I always wanted to use that word – spectacular! It’s fascinating to watch photographers pat themselves on the backs, to the point of breaking their own arms, and going back for more. Self flagellation is overrated in my book, so maybe let’s let the images provide the words?
This image is from a family vacation in Banff, Canada, last week. The place is what I call a “Point-and-Shoot Land,” meaning all you have to do is point and shoot, and the sheer exotic nature of the location will do the rest. There’s a lot of that going on right now with the folks who may not have been in the business very long. It doesn’t start with an education in photography, or experience. It starts with a plane ticket.
