Photojournalism – FEATURE

Feature photography for newspapers could be difficult. If it was an assignment, not a problem, but when we were sent out to find (what was called) “Wild Art,” it became a trudge of epic proportions. Sometimes we drove more than 100-miles in a day just looking for “wild art” images. And sometimes, in the earliest days, we had to “shoot for holes,” meaning we had to find images that proportionately filled a hole in a newspaper page layout … pretty humiliating stuff.
