Running Down South Padre Time

The clock is ticking on my time here on South Padre Island. While I have turned over the care and feeding of Los Pescadores Coffee & Outfitters to the new manager, I am also taking some time off while I am here – to enjoy life a little bit before heading back to Denton, Texas, in late April.

I can say the weather has been the worst here since winter sailed in and until now – in late March 2023. The winds for the entire State of Texas have been remarkable.

If you have not followed along, a ton of effort goes into my work and writing, and videos FOR www.texasflycaster.com. That site is the second longest existing effort in my lifetime. I started on that parallel adventure in 2007, and it still holds up after all these years. It seems fly fishing is one of those things that not everyone thinks they can learn by watching YouTube videos – unlike the intervening years of photographers who … come and go, and come and go.

Beer Bait and Cigarettes. What more do you want? Port Mansfield 2023

I do have the opportunity to adventure down here – finding unique architecture, like the Gulf Coastal A Frame houses that used to be ubiquitous on the Island..

The Big 50 – Couch Project Comes to a Close

Denton Couch Art

I finally have couch number 50 on the silicon and now the production begins for book Number 1 – “Couch Art – A Photographic Street Study of Found Art, and 20th. Century Art Movements.”

Since then, it seems like couches have been breeding on Denton Streets all across town! It is almost like the couch minions have unleashed their most sentimental shreds of fabric into the streets and I can hardly drive down a street and not see a stunning example of my completed (book one anyway) project.
