ART

The art photography shown here comes from, is caused by, many different things. It has already been called, “too sophisticated” for the Dallas market.

Maybe it was just the folks doing the marketing, but there is a rhyme and reason to why these images have the look they have.

The photographic art I have done spans decades and a wide variety of subjects. You will find images that test your photographic IQ, and others that are what they are with no pretenses. If you have any questions about the thinking behind the images, feel free to ask.

Music photography Denton Texas. The greatest of challenges come late at night, in dark bars, trying to photograph talented musicians with no help from the guys running the stage lights, but the results from hundreds of images can give the greatest reward.

Youth Rodeo Project

The youth rodeo is an ongoing photography project that I work on when time allows. There have been a lot of other imitators over the last eight years, which is always the sincerest form of flattery. I have been woking on this project since 2006, and like to give it a breather so that every time I go back there’s a new crop of kids who weren’t there the previous year.

It is interesting to see tiny dramas play out right before your eyes. Fear, anticipation, victory and defeat … all wrapped in small packages and condensed moments. I know I have witnessed moments that these little cowboys and cowgirls will remember forever. Their innocence about the moment is sometimes offset by parents intensity about the event.
